How we’ll work together

How we’ll work together

Working with me is straightforward. I keep the process clear, timelines realistic, and communication simple. Here’s what to expect:

The process for companies:

Step 1: Initial conversation. We’ll discuss your project, including what you need, who your audience is, and what outcome you’re looking for. This helps me understand your goals and confirm I’m the right fit. If I’m not the right fit for your project, I’ll be honest and say so.

I’ll send you a few questions by email to understand your needs, and then we’ll arrange a brief call or continue with an email discussion.

Step 2: Project agreement. I’ll send you a brief proposal outlining what I’ll deliver, the timeline, and the cost. Once you’re happy, we’ll confirm and get started.

Timeframe: Within 48 hours of our conversation

Step 3: Information gathering. I’ll need background materials from you, such as technical documents, product information, previous content, or access to subject matter experts for interviews. The more context I have, the better the result.

Step 4: Writing and review. I’ll create your content and send it to you for review. You’ll have one round of revisions included to ensure it meets your needs.

Typical timeframes:

  • Articles (800-1200 words): 7-10 working days
  • Guides (2000-3000 words): 10-14 working days
  • Other projects: Discussed individually

What I need from you:

  • Relevant documents and resources
  • Access to SMEs if interviews are needed
  • Any brand guidelines or style preferences

Step 5: Final delivery Once you’re happy with the content, I’ll deliver the final version in your preferred format or your designer’s preferred format – Microsoft Word, Google Docs or Adobe InDesign

The Process for Agencies:

If you’re an agency, the process is similar but typically faster and more streamlined. I work as an extension of your team, following your briefs, timelines, and workflows.

FAQs about working together

What if I need changes after the final delivery is made? Minor tweaks (typos, small adjustments) are included. Substantial rewrites or scope changes would be quoted separately.

Do you sign NDAs? Yes, I’m happy to sign non-disclosure agreements when needed.

What if my timeline is urgent? I can sometimes accommodate rush projects depending on my schedule. Please contact me to discuss availability and any potential rush fees.

How do you handle payments? Payment terms are agreed in advance. For direct clients, I typically invoice 50% upfront and the remaining 50% upon completion. For agencies, I work with your standard payment terms.
