How we’ll work together
Working with me is straightforward. I keep the process clear so you know what to expect at every stage.
The process:
Step 1: Initial conversation. We’ll discuss your project, including what you need, who your audience is, and what outcome you’re looking for. This helps me understand your goals and confirm I’m the right fit. If I’m not the right fit for your project, I’ll be honest and say so.
I’ll send you a few questions via email to understand your needs, and then we’ll arrange a brief call or continue the discussion via email.
Step 2: Project agreement. I’ll send you a brief proposal outlining what I’ll deliver, the timeline, and the cost. Once you’re happy, we’ll confirm and get started.
Timeframe: Within 48 hours of our conversation
Step 3: Information gathering. I’ll need background materials from you, such as technical documents, research findings, previous content, or access to subject matter experts for interviews. The more context I have, the better the result and the fewer revisions you’ll need.
Step 4: Writing and review. I’ll create your content and send it to you for review. You’ll have two rounds of revisions included.
Typical timeframes:
- Articles (800-1200 words): 7-10 working days
- Guides (2000-3000 words): 10-14 working days
- Other projects: Discussed individually
What I need from you:
- Relevant documents and resources, and ones you’re not sure about, because they’re often useful.
- Access to SMEs if interviews are needed
- Any brand guidelines or style preferences
Step 5: Final delivery Once you’re happy with the content, I’ll deliver the final version in your preferred format or your designer’s preferred format – Microsoft Word, Google Docs or Adobe InDesign
